Diet culture rules are arbitrary at best and harmful at worst.

General, sweeping maxims about the “right way” to eat are neither helpful nor healthy; they tend to be restrictive, unrealistic and unscientific.

Different people with different bodies, cultures, schedules, incomes, etc. have different needs, preferences and resources. Therefore, healthy eating requires flexibility – not rigidity.

Bottom line: #DietCulture doesn’t know you or care about your health, so it doesn’t get to make rules about how you nourish your body. 🙅🏻‍♀️
